If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. For those who are already in good shape, one session of proper sweat-inducing exercise a week, along with normal daily activity, is enough to maintain condition. This also ensures that one's fitness does not collapse during a trip. For a regular person, five sessions of sweaty exercise weekly is too much. Your body doesn't have time to recover. Instead, you begin to suffer from various muscle symptoms, your sleep becomes restless, appetite decreases and training does not improve. Recovery from such over-conditioning requires rest. Everyone should stretch daily to alleviate the muscle tension of the day and improve the posture. Especially those who work while seated tend to suffer from changes to the natural S-curvature of the spine as upper body tends to collapse inwards and the neck extends forward. As a result, the back loses its flexibility, the back and shoulders tire and ache. OUTSMART EXHAUSTION No matter how fit you are, travelling takes its toll. A massage can help quickly overcome that wilted feeling. Many airports and hotels offer spas and massage centres, which can represent salvation for a weary traveller. Even a few minutes of head or foot massage can release muscle tension, refresh the mind and activate one's metabolism. A full-body massage or treatment complete with essential oils is like a mini-holiday, relaxing the body and mind. The external signs of exhaustion can be hidden by cosmetics. Frequent travellers can put together a rescue kit from items available at airport shops. When retiring at night, spread lotion to reduce puffiness on the face and around the eyes. In the morning, cover dark bags under your eyes with a foundation cream and smooth out facial discolouration with a lightly tinted moisturiser. Eye drops can help clear up eye redness. The rest can be overcome by good posture and a radiant smile.
