Restaurant Sea Horse. Monocle is a fan of the Finnish capital and recently ranked Helsinki as the fifth most livable city in the world. Here's where editor-in-chief Tyler Brûlé goes when he's in town: "Restaurant Sea Horse ranks as one of my ten best restaurants experience in the world." Established in 1934, Sea Horse serves up hearty food such as fried herrings and mash or pyttipannu (Scandinavian hash), a Finnish pan-fried specialty of potatoes, sausages, eggs and onions. Poet Pablo Neruda, musician Dizzy Gillespie, and writer Jean-Paul Sartre have graced the premises; Sartre is said to have liked it so much that he didn't want to leave.
