"The SMS service is available for all Finnair passengers on all Finnair scheduled flights when the expected delay is more than 30 minutes, but less than three hours," says Marko Haaksiala, manager of passenger and baggage procedures. Messages will only be sent to those passengers who have provided their mobile phone number at the time of booking. www.finnair.com Ninna Lindström A text notification system also lets passengers know if their baggage is not on the same Finnair scheduled flight as they are. And before the journey begins, "all Finnair Plus members who have provided their mobile phone number will receive an SMS check-in and seating suggestion on designated routes that they can accept or decline," says Haaksiala. Finnair has been a leader in text message services. In 2004, it introduced the world's first mobile phone service enabling passengers to check in for flights via SMS. Finnair's text message service lets you know in English or Finish if your flight's departure will be delayed. New spa services coming to Helsinki-Vantaa spa and wellness centre will open in autumn 2009 in the new Helsinki Airport terminal extension.
